Presentation of the laboratory                                                                                        

The Bretagne Atlantique Mathematics Laboratory (LMBA) brings together the majority of mathematicians in West Brittany.

It occupies premises located in the buildings of the UFR Sciences and Techniques of the University of Brest (UBO) and the UFR Sciences and Engineering Sciences of the University of South Brittany (UBS).

Its status, since 2004, has been that of a Mixed Research Unit (UMR6205 of the CNRS). He benefits from guardianship:

• University of Brest
• University of South Brittany

The LMBA has around sixty permanent members.

The research themes represented cover a large part of the mathematical fields, from theoretical aspects to the most applied. We can distinguish three main themes, organized around teams and seminars:

• Geometry and topology

• Dynamic systems, probability and statistics

• Analysis, stochastic phenomena and application

The administration of the UMR is ensured by its director - assisted by a deputy director - and by a Laboratory Council.
